A defining insight of those who went to the moon 50 years ago was that there are no lines on our earth, dividing one nation from another. They saw one human family on this beautiful blue and white ball, spinning in the vastness of a universe, the end of which is still to be found.

Blue Knot Day is the Blue Knot Foundation's national awareness day celebrated in October every year. On this day, all Australians are asked to unite in support of the 5 million Australian adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse.

As the first anniversary of the historic apology approaches, the Uniting Church Assembly is encouraging its church communities and congregations to mark the occasion with a Liturgy of Acknowledgement and Lament on or near 20 October.

“Do you love me?” -  It’s a question about global warming

World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, visiting New York just before the Climate Action Summit organized by the United Nations, asked this in the sermon he gave at Marble Church in New York City on 22 September.

Rev Tveit reflected,  "children and young people are asking this question in a new way. 'Do you care for our future? Do you love us? Do you love me?'".
