WCC rejoices at reconciliation of Orthodox synods in Ethiopia
The WCC General Secretary, Rev Dr Olav Fykse Tveit congratulates the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Dr Abiy Ahmed, for his role in the reconciliation of the Church. The two synods of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church have been separated for 27 years.

Remembering Hiroshima
On 6 August, 1945 at 8.15 am the world's first nuclear attack was realised. The world had entered the atomic age.
We remember this and the similar attack three days later on Nagasaki and pray for this nuclear tragedy never to be repeated.

2018 theme: Walking Together
1 September was proclaimed a Day of Prayer for Creation by the Orthodox in 1989 and repeated by Pope Francis in 2015.
The season takes us through to the feast of St. Francis on 4 October. Christians of all denominations and locations are invited to participate in an ecumenical Season of Creation.

Reduce poverty and hardship by taking part in an activity organised by others or organize an activity yourself.
Activities such as conferences, seminars, forums, performances, media events etc are always great. Maybe even invite your local MP or Mayor to attend.
