A statement by peace-building organisations. 

Released to mark International Peace Day 2019, the statement is the work of the Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) and over 100 other organisations. The statement calls on governments and the international community to: move from commitments to action on peace in the 2030 Agenda; align crisis response with longer term prevention and peace-building efforts; protect and support civil society; and recommit to multilateral-ism as a safeguard for the most vulnerable.

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) is dedicating the month of November as a time to pray for those affected by crippling drought conditions - to pray for the "gift of rain".

White Haze – Racism in Modern Australia 

Rev Glenn Loughrey, of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne participated in the Asia regional webinar, Racism, Xenophobia and Discrimination in the Asian Context. The webinar was facilitated by the World Council of Churches (WCC). Rev Loughrey shares his presentation, White Haze - Racism in Australia with us.

Our friends at the Western Australian Council of Churches are having their Annual General Meeting on Sunday 10 November, opening at 1:45 pm for a 2:00 pm start.

Discussion on the theme: Inquiry into Elder Abuse will be facilitated by Rev Brian Carey, and will be in the form of a discussion panel with Q&A. Refreshments will be served after the meeting, ending by 4:30 pm.
